the story behind it all

the story

The National Bible Cities Project is a program focusing our efforts for National Bible Week in specific target cities each year. Each year, only one city is named The National Bible City.

National Bible Week

National Bible Association’s signature event has been celebrated the week of Thanksgiving every year since 1941. Senators, Governors and Mayors from across the country proclaim National Bible Week in their states and towns.

Designed to raised the nation’s interest in the value and importance of reading the Bible, it is the perfect kick-off to the religious holiday season.

Why We Do This

National Bible City is led by a local committee who raises National Bible Week Awareness in four ways:

Recognize leaders encouraging Bible reading in community

Raise awareness through radio, newspapers and television

Distribute free National Bible Week materials to everyone

Work with a Senator, the Governor and Mayor to proclaim National Bible Week
